New Year, New Blog

Many thanks to Gawain for setting me up the bomb.  I have to say, WordPress seems a little more professional than the free blog services I’m used to.  I’m looking at quite a few buttons that I’m afraid to push.  Anyway, on to the actual content…

One would think that, with all this government-sponsored free time (unemployment), I would be writing daily updates of all the hermit-like things I do; regaling everyone with the saga of my rotating sleep-schedule or the DaVinci-esque notes I keep on the progress of my newly acquired Chia Herb Garden.  But who would care?  Alas, no, I have not been that proud of the past three months, nor my activities therein.  I’m fairly certain I have actual depression, as in the kind requiring drug-use or lottery winnings to correct.  Doctors and pills, I’m certain, would make me feel better but would, ultimately, not fix the source of the problem – joblessness.

Everything else in my life seems just fine except for not having a job.  And, when I say that, I don’t mean just any old job that pays the bills, I’m talking (writing, actually) about The Perfect Job.  It needs to be challenging enough that I’m not bored, but not so difficult that I need four more years of school to do it.  It can’t be anything tedious or inane.  It must utilize my creativity and provide motivation, monetary or otherwise, to keep working at it, or I will never have a chance at retirement.  And I want to be proud of what I do.  So, what could this Perfect Job be?

Writing Porn Screenplays.

And while I’m waiting to hear back from Raging Stallion Studios and Eurocream Productions, I think I’ll try to write some games.  I know there’s no money in RPG’s.  I know I’m going to be poor forever and that pursuing what I’m good at will make me a drain on my family even if there’s a modicum of success.  But it’s the only thing I like.  And if I can grow enough of a pair to put something up on Lulu.com for the world to see, then maybe I’ll have the guts to take on other things from which I’ve shied away (maybe even some things that make actual money).

Eh, I probably ought to stick with “Space Lesbians vs. the Fetish Queen” and hope that pans out.
